- Students in the Culinary Institute of Canada's Applied Degree in Culinary Operations program participated in the first annual Canada's Smartest Kitchen Product Development Challenge, which was sponsored by Cavendish Farms. - Holland College's Culinary Institute has added a food product developer, food scientist, and technical business analyst to it's research and development kitchen team; Michael Good, a graduate of Holland College's Bioscience Technology program was selected for the food product developer position and he has developed the wine program for some of PEI's top restaurants; Sarah Collins was hired for the Technical Business Analyst position and she will be responsible for promoting the "smart kitchen" and its services to industry; and Shane Hilderman, a recent graduate of Holland College's Culinary Arts program was hired for the food scientist position
