- Future direction for ADAPT will be unveiled in July
- Executive Director Phil Ferraro of the PEI ADAPT Council states that the organization has been working to develop and prepare for a new role. Since 1997 the Council has delivered a series of federally funded five-year programs whose goal was to help the agricultural industry adapt to new challenges. The Canadian Agricultural Adaptation Program, the last in this funding series, expired in March 2014. The Council appeared set to transition into a new agency called PEI FarmWorks (an agricultural investment program based on a Nova Scotia model), but the council later decided not to proceed with that plan. Ferraro stated that the PEI ADAPT Council will unveil plans for its future direction in July 2014.
