Abstract
Stories of the first Chinese immigrants to arrive in Atlantic Canada are documented. The first Chinese person to arrive in PEI was Louisa Mary Hooper in 1850, whom was married to Island politician William Hooper. Details of daily life are documented, including laundromats opened in Charlottetown by immigrants called the Jim Lee laundry and John Ling laundry.
