- What about fertigation?
- Charlottetown-Victoria Park MLA Richard Brown raised questions about the possibility of of applying pesticides at the same time as irrigating during a Department of Agriculture and Forestry debate on lifting the provincial ban on deep water wells. Brown questioned department minister Webster about the possible use of an agricultural model adopted in Nebraska that seeks to coordinate the fertilizer loading of agricultural fields to times of irrigation so that the total chemical load to fields is minimized. Webster expressed doubt that the conditions related to irrigation in Nebraska were applicable to those on PEI.

- A Seniors Entrepreneurship Forum was held recently in Montague. The event was hosted by The Rural Action Centre, Community Business Development and Active Communities Inc. Mature adult speakers shared their entrepreneurial experience and knowledge with more than 100 participants. Alan MacKinnon , accountant and financial consultant , talked about the realities of starting a business. Lorraine (Gosbee) Vatcher talked about Red Cliff Gallery. Donna Glass shared the experience of starting Kingfisher Outdoors Inc. Linda Fry of Cardigan North shared her experiences as a participant in the workshop
