- Taiwan trade mission positive for PEI cranberry growers
- Salute to Agriculture [special supplement] A 10-day trade mission of ten Island representatives, which included PEI government officials and Island cranberry producers, went to meet with buyers in Taiwan. Garth Wilkie, president of the PEI Cranberry Association, notes that PEI producers already have a successful product being sold in Taiwan, and remarked on the intensive testing for chemicals or impurities that are conducted by Taiwanese importers before approving a product for sale. Wilkie also comments in the article that the cranberry industry on PEI is facing serious problems regarding revenue versus production costs.
