- 2014 International Year of Family Farming--Prince Edward Island Family Farm [special profile column] The 2014 IYFF campaign profiles PEI's Heart Beet Organics, a small, certified organic farm in North Wiltshire that has been operated by Amy Smith and Verena Varga since 2010. Heart Beat Organics, which is connected to the Atlantic regional organic network ACORN, offers vegetable pick-up at the farm, and it also sells its products at the Charlottetown Farmers Market. They are currently working with two apprentices, teaching them the basics of organic farming.
