- Standing Committee on Agriculture, Forestry, Energy and Environment Chair Paula Biggar presented her report to the legislature and recommended that the moratorium on deep water wells stay in place until the committee holds further hearings on the issue. West Royalty-Springvale MLA, Bush Dumville, raised the issue during Question Period, asking if Environment Minister Janice Sherry would commit to delaying any final decision on the wells until after the committee has finished its work. He also questioned what monitoring was being done on deep water wells, and Sherry replied that the department is working to improve its monitoring strategy, and that adjustments may be needed to ensure 100% compliance. Independent Morell-Mermaid MLA Olive Crane also inquired about the monitoring procedure and whether well owners are required to report on the quality of the water pumped
