- Island dairy producers are leading in the implementation of the proActive program that is designed to focus on six key areas: milk quality, food safety through Canadian Quality Milk, livestock traceability, animal care, biosecurity and the environment. The proActive program follows what is known as the HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) approach that seeks to identify potential problems or hazards and then develops steps to eliminate or minimize those hazards.
