- Kinkora couple named Atlantic outstanding young farmers
- Andrew and Heidi Lawless of Kinkora are named 2014 Atlantic outstanding young farmers, an award presented by Farm Credit Canada. They were runners-up in 2009. They grow potatoes for Cavendish Farms and have been named one of the top ten growers for Cavendish Farms in the Province on several occasions. Andrew attended the eighth class of the Atlantic Agricultural Leadership Program. They are active volunteers within the community and Heidi also works off the farm as a Grade 2 teacher at Queen Elizabeth Elementary School and they have three children
