- Heavy fine handed down in Crop Protection Act cases
- Sentences have been handed down in Summerside Provincial Court on two charges of violating the Agriculture Crop Rotation Act. Avard Smallman of O'Leary pleaded guilty on one charge under the act and was fined $15,180. Urbainville Farms Ltd. of Wellington pleaded guilty and was fined $12,600. Sweet Farms has also been charged under the act but has not been sentenced. They planted a regulated crop in the same field more than once in three years. Smallman was also charged under the Environmental Protection Act following a major fish kill in 2011
