Abstract

Describes the planning, costs, and upcoming installation work of the PEI-New Brunswick Cable Interconnection Upgrade Project, which will lay two submarine electrical cables between New Brunswick and PEI to allow the Island to satisfy its increasing demand for electricity. The plan will replace the existing cables, which were put in place in 1977. [Included in an insert titled "Natural Resources". Includes photographs.]
