Abstract
The article talks about the summer projects that were carried out including tree planting, stream enhancement, removing a beaver dam, improving a fish passageway in Hazel Grove, a webcam of an american kestrel box and outreach with an information booth on Canada Day and promotion of new facebook page. He talks about bats now being considered endangered by COSEWIC (The Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada) and bats are very valuable as they eat insects and agricultural pests. The group has also been active in the Coalition for the Protection of PEI Water and will take part in upcoming consultations on a water act for Prince Edward Island. Lastly, Island Nature Trust is hosting a talk on August 7 in Wheatley River on bobolinks and barn swallows.
