Canadian honey production down: PEI shows increase

Abstract

Canadian beekeepers produced 78.1 million pounds of honey in 2011, down nearly 4.0 million pounds, or 4.8% from 2010. In 2011, PEI saw the number of growers increase to 40 and 2,954 colonies with productions of 134 metric tonnes and $885,000 in sales.
