AbstractDiscusses history of the Griffin family business in potato farming spanning back to 1947. W.P. Griffin Inc. received an Atlantic region Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2012 for recognition of their vision, leadership, financial performance and social responsibility. In addition to this prestigious award, company president John Griffin was named one of Atlantic Canada's top 50 CEOs for the past 2 years. John and Peter Griffin, along with other family and staff that reaches up to 50 in peak season, are split evenly between the fields and packing plant. Social and community responsibility are important to the family, as they raised over $70,000 in partnership with Sobeys over the past 2 years for the Canadian Potato Museum.
