AbstractDiscusses Atlantic Canada's post-secondary research and development that are having an impact on a larger scale. Features two profiles of P.E.I. researchers. One section on page 109 discusses students at the Culinary Institute of Canada who took part in a four-month competition that was funded by Canada's Smartest Kitchen and Cavendish Farms. The students developed seven new product concepts that will be reviewed and refined by Cavendish Farms. Another section on page 119 discusses researchers at the University of Prince Edward Island who developed a tool called the Coastal Impact Visualization Environment (CLIVE) that uses archives of aerial photographs and develops models and images of future seal level scenarios.
