Cavendish Farms offers predictable response

Cavendish Farms Company President Robert Irving noted before Legislative Committee that as one of the largest private sector employers that it has an impact of $1 billion on the provincial economy. The Province will not act at lifting moratorium as a permanent or temporary measure until a new Water Act is in place which may take 1-2 growing seasons and the decision may not be made until after the next provincial election. The editorialist wonders if Cavendish Farms maybe gone by that time or if their bluff maybe called.
