Abstract
In honor of the 150th anniversary of the 1864 Charlottetown Conference, 4-H Canada holds its national citizenship conference on PEI; it is the first time the event has been held outside Ottawa. The conference offers senior 4-H members the opportunity to learn about the parliamentary process and ways to contribute to community life. Fifty-five delegates to the conference visited Lennox Island to learn about aboriginal history and to the Evangeline region to learn about Francophone history. A Montreal-based organization, "Apathy is Boring," gave a presentation and promoted the involvement of youth in the political process. Kellie Ann Younker of the Wheatley River 4-H Club was part of the Island delegation attending the conference.
