Farm Centre to host farm and processing trade show April 26

Abstract

The PEI Farm Centre hosts the first Family Farm and Micro Processing Trade Show as part of the PEI 2014 celebrations and the International Year of Famly Farming. General manager, Phil Ferraro, notes that the majority of farmers are small, diversified entrepreneurs. This trade show is specifically designed to appeal to Island farmers, home gardeners, food processors and chefs. Included in the show: Renewable Lifestyles, a Summerside-based company that offers sustainable energy technologies; Veseys Equipment; Willsie Equipment; Acadian Machine Works; Bernardin, Inc.; and Fergusons Restaurant Supplies In February 2014, the Farm Centre also hosted its first annual Seed Expo, which attracted over 900 participants. The show organizers anticipate and even larger turnout for this event
