Abstract
PEI Wild Blueberry Growers Association members meet for their AGM in Cornwall and note promising changes and trends in their industry. Wyman's Canada, a major processor in the province is making a major expansion in their processing facility on PEI, and many growers have made significant improvements to their production practices over the past ten years, which has resulted in increased yields. The association has developed a strategic plan that focuses on for major areas: providing a better investment return to growers; better communication between growers; an increased effort to work together cooperatively and to support industry research; and hiring Amy Swallow MacDonald as an executive assistant for the association. Growers also heard about federal and provincial research being done on the Spotted Wing Drosophila, a major pest challenge to the blueberry industry
