Government weak on new fumigant testing

Abstract

NDP Leader Mike Redmond states that the PEI Department of Agriculture spokesperson stating that the trial of the fumigant chloropicrin is taking place far from residences is too weak a response from government on such a serious issue. Concerns about testing by Environment Canada of such a fumigant on strawberry plants and seeing if it would enter the water table were raised by Alberton Mayor Michael Murphy.
