Cultural Forum 2014: sharing business stories

Title

Abstract

Cultural Forum 2014 was held in March in Charlottetown. The theme was "Creative Placemaking" and they heard from three panelists their success stories of promoting arts and culture in the community Becka Viau from this town is small inc spoke about several projects including Art in the Open and their latest project Small Town gallery at the Charlottetown Farmers Market. Partnering with Mi'kmag Confederacy, and upcoming Festivals as well as with Island Media Arts Co-op are future projects. Previous projects included Island Poems 2011 and Small Town Sessions. Martina MacDonald from CBDC Rural Action Centre presented on the Artisans on Main, Montague and Souris as well as the Main Street Artisans Gallery, The Production Studio and The Artisan Boutique. Jeff Squires, co-owner of The PEI Brewing Company spoke on the Art Battle, held onsite in Charlottetown
