Abstract

Margarita Caropresi, editor of Atoctli, a Toronto-based magazine directed towards migrant workers from Mexico, was guest speaker at a PEI Federation of Agriculture seminar for producers who have hired or are thinking of hiring temporary foreign workers. PEI Federation of Agriculture Executive Director John Jamieson has been working with Atoctli and the PEI Association of Newcomers to Canada to help migrant workers feel welcome and to ensure that language and cultural differences do not pose problems for farm employers or labourers.
