Newcomers to PEI bring various skills to the workplace

Abstract

In the last five years, over 6,300 newcomers from more than 100 countries have moved to PEI and connected with the PEI Association for Newcomers to Canada (PEI ANC); newcomers arrive on PEI with a multitude of skills and education; In 2012-13, the PEI ANC offered a self employment program which resulted in more than 20 new businesses opening that helped provide a boost to the Island economy
