abstract: This report provides an overview of the science carried out in the branch and
demonstrates how branch programs address current and emerging health priorities. It
examines the types and roles of science in the branch; domestic and international
collaborations; and health surveillance and monitoring systems. The report highlights
five program areas: safe environments; product safety; drug strategy and controlled
substances; tobacco control; and workplace health and public safety.
